Maia Matches is a comic artist with a predilection for candid details and a sharp eye for feminist concerns. Her signature character ‘Bitch’ is a hallmark of alt-right satire – an S&M loving action-hero drawn clad in a bikini and combat boots. Additionally, Maia has produced journalistic drawings covering social issues in the zeitgeist, exemplified in her work as City Illustrator, commissioned by the City Archive of Amsterdam in 2019.
